Winter Sparkle and Mother Nature Whispers

winter sparkle
Just combined a cute simple but yet daring look for the winter:grey cardigan, black high waisted sequined shorts, knee high socks, grey oxfords, mac lipstic, lace bra, Chanel no.9 top, black feather hat, and Mac Jacobs watch.

mother nature whispers

I am also loving this look, it reminds me of ...sugar spice and everything nice :). I decided to call it 'mother nature whispers'. It includes a fusion of pink hues and camel browns creating a girly look which is then balanced out by the military boots making the outfit edgy and this look is so versatile no matter the season.

What I am loving this month..

This month I have been religiously using these products.
  1.  L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser
I love this cleanser because it does clean your face thoroughly..not sure if it's too thoroughly. I try not too use it everyday because it cleans too well-maybe to the point of drying out skin.

But I am loving how it feels on my skin and the little scrublet is a nifty little thing which definitely makes the product that much different from other cleansers.
2. Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
The next one is the Aveeno moisturising lotion  which I have been using  everyday for the past few weeks and my skin feels supple for the whole day. It has no scent and is made out of natural colloidal oatmeal which is good for dry skin conditions.

3. Sleek I-Divine Acid Pallete
I have been using this pallete since last year and it is still as satisfying. The colours are very 'out-there' but brighten up any gloomy day. Additionally, I found out that they glow very well under U.V light. Now, this is not the reason why I got them it just so happens that when we had a U.V event at the university my eyes were apparently glowing..nice.

4.WetnWild Natural Blend Lip Shimmer

'Approved by the Natural Products Association, these lip shimmers are made of a natural formula infused with calming ingredients of vitamins and natural oils to keep lips moisturized and nourished.' (from the WetnWild website).

A  definite purse/bag must have and my colour is Spice. I am loving this product so much that I just recently went and got another one and for $1.99 I had no reason not too. It smells like spearmint and does not dry out lips unlike some other cheap products out there.

Happy Thanks giving!!

I spent my first Thanksgiving celebration this year at my lovely room-mate's home and even  though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the U.K, I really enjoyed this day and it felt...special.

Obviously there was a lot of yummy food which reminded me of Christmas dinners back home- which only fed into my nostalgia...oh England how I do miss thee...

Dorothy Dandridge

So I know that I haven't been posting much on this blog since I first opened it and this is because...I have no excuse. Maybe I thought there was a certain way to go about writing a blog and after viewing other people I realise there is no such thing.
***
Therefore today, as I sit in my dorm room browsing the net I remembered an old fashioned movie that I saw few years ago starring a certain lady called Dorothy Dandridge.
***

Now, Dorothy in this movie is named Carmen Jones-which also happens to be the name of the movie and her character is not very desirable as she is a seducer who two times two guys and the crazy one ends up shooting her dead in the end.
***
Despite this though, I do adore her wardrobe and style in this movie. Set in the 1950's the movie exudes class and elegance that the decade is very well known for and not only is Dorothy's wardrobe to die for, the whole cast-which is an all black cast has a 50's style that is very inspiring even the guys (even Joe, Carmen's soldier per-surer has his own individual ).

There is not one outfit that I don't like in this movie-it's a nice girly movie to watch when you're feeling well...girly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ1f6tVliME

Happy Birthday to me!

So, yesterday was my birthday and turning 20 felt good in a way although I have to say that I will miss being a teenager but at the same time I'm looking forward to my twenties. Even though I am away in America for study abroad my beautiful girls made my day very special by surprising me with a beautiful cake, presents and a nice dinner at a Mexican restaurant.  Love you!!
